I'm an Emmy award-winning independent journalist and filmmaker born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, and now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm currently developing an animated documentary film about the crystal meth epidemic in Hawaii. I'm the former Series Producer for VICE's illustrated documentary series Correspondent Confidential and for six years I led digital storytelling projects at the Center for Investigative Reporting as Senior Multimedia Producer. Before I got into multimedia I was a magazine editor, newspaper reporter, and video journalist. I completed a master's degree in journalism from UC Berkeley in 2005.
