Christians in Cambodia

Evangelical Christianity is taking root in Cambodia, where thousands who suffered under the Khmer Rouge are still searching for answers and a fresh start. While Christians account for less than 2 percent of the population, the spread of their faith has created tension with some Buddhists. Some converts go to church to escape the past. Others see it as a way to move up in society.

I shot and edited this short documentary in 2004; additional camera work by Chris Beaver. The piece ran as part of a web series on WashingtonPost.com and as a standalone episode on Current TV.
